When Is Too Much Change just TOO MUCH

I am a member of Bonanzle.com and this was originally written for the members of that site. However, I think it affects all of us on the Internet.

I have worked with computers since the 1960’s and have been on the Internet since 1990.This is 20 years of experiencing drastic changes. I have had to re-learn and update, re-learn and update, re-learn and update, until my brain is on “overload”.

I do not consider myself as a “guru” or High Tech person. I can only speak from experience.

We keep buying new systems to go faster and faster and faster in order to load and process more “garbage” and “garbage” and “Garbage”.

The “Information Highway” ( Internet, Web, etc) has become littered with “Garbage”.

You only have to go to some of the sites with tons of flashing ads, videos, and slide shows to realize that even with high speed, it still takes 15 minutes to load before you can see the information.

We must abandon our “Cars” (old systems) and buy “Helicopters” (new systems) in order to travel on this “Information Highway”.

We also are subject to more hackers, spam, spy ware, etc. So we must “Arm” ourselves with an arsenal of weapons to protect us from this type of “garbage”.

People are now spending over half of their lives on computers or computer based accessories.

Do we want to spend our lives dealing with all this Chaos?
I say: “Stop the Insanity ! “

There is no such thing as “user friendly” anymore. That exists only in the minds of the High Tech People who believe it to be “easy” for them. But not for the average common person.

To my friends and current users of Bonanzle,
Please don’t dump your “garbage” on the Bonanzle site.
“Be careful what you ask for….you may get it”

My original quote on the Bonanzle forums:
“ I feel like a blind man who comes home every evening to find that all the furniture has been re-arranged just to ‘enhance my experience’ ! “

  1. Everyone has thier opinions on what is user friendly and what is not.
Older generations will not know as much about the internet and computers as people who are younger and "hip" tot he new computer age.
I use HTML and video in my listings...i dont blow people up with it, i go for simple and elegant.
But the more complex features of the internet are essential for muy business and to give my customers an idea of what i am selling.
simple can be good, but there is such a thing as too simple.
if a place wherther is is someone's booth on bonanzle, or a website looks really unprofessional and there isnt enough there for me to see what im buying in detail i use the back button and go elsewhere
    jus my opinion
